The Challenge: A System That Could Not Support the Vision

GreenSpark Solar had invested in NetSuite as their next gen ERP system. Although the team had high hopes, the implementation had stalled. Limited financial functionality was live, and expanding the system would require significant additional investment.

The GreenSpark team was at a decision point. Continue investing in a system that never fully delivered, or reset and build the right foundation.

The organization was growing. Leadership needed visibility. The CEO needed reliable reporting. IT needed a system that could be administered efficiently without unnecessary complexity.  What they had instead was:

  • Limited to financial functionality

  • No meaningful cross department integration

  • High projected cost to expand

  • Low internal confidence

As DuWayne explained:

“When I came on board, their number one priority was listen, we need to figure out what we’re doing with our ERP system.”

When DuWayne Caviness came on board as the new Director of IT at GreenSpark Solar, he inherited a NetSuite implementation that ultimately could not support GreenSpark’s growth or existing state of business. He was tasked with the ultimate job of restoring the organization’s faith in the attainability of a unified platform to bring together all areas of the business.

The Turning Point: Reevaluating the Investment

When DuWayne evaluated what it would cost to bring NetSuite to the level leadership required, the conversation shifted.

If the company was going to reinvest, it needed to invest strategically.

DuWayne had prior experience evaluating ERP platforms. He had previously championed Acumatica at another organization and understood both the strengths and weaknesses of competing systems.

Acumatica checked the boxes.

  • Administrative simplicity

  • Scalable architecture

  • Modern cloud environment

  • Executive visibility

The next step was selecting the right partner to guide the transition.

The ICS Approach: Structure During Complexity

Implementing ERP software is rarely just about technology. It is about alignment, leadership, and disciplined execution.

GreenSpark’s team was still maturing operationally. Roles were evolving. Priorities competed for attention. After a previous implementation experience that fell short, moving forward required both clarity and confidence.

DuWayne led the charge internally. Innovative Cloud Solutions provided the external structure to match it.

By partnering with ICS, DuWayne gained a team that could translate leadership’s vision into practical execution.

Together Innovative Cloud Solutions provided steady guidance throughout the process and DuWayne drove the ship to a successful implementation.

I will say, and I’ve told this to GreenSpark time and time again –ICS is the better of the channel partners that I’ve worked with for simple fact that they were able to stick to what they believe was their core in order to get something implemented despite having a lot of resistance.”

What ultimately made the difference was not just the platform. It was the consistency of the partnership. ICS remained grounded in process, disciplined in execution, and unwavering in its commitment to doing what was right for the long term success of the organization. Even when priorities shifted or resistance surfaced, the focus never moved away from structured implementation and measurable progress. That steadiness created trust. It created momentum. And it allowed GreenSpark to move forward with confidence instead of compromise.

The Outcome: Executive Visibility and Operational Confidence

Today, GreenSpark operates on Acumatica with a system aligned to growth.

The CEO now leverages Velixo to pull real time financial data directly from Acumatica. Reporting is immediate. Numbers are accessible. Decision making is faster.

DuWayne shared:

“The CEO is ecstatic. He has his Velixo set up. He can pull his numbers and everything.”

Administrative friction has decreased. IT can manage the platform efficiently. Internal teams operate with clearer accountability.

Most importantly, leadership now has confidence in their foundation.
